About Altered Landscape

The Altered Landscape is a collaborative photography project where photographers can share their personal visions of landscapes altered by human.

By its aesthetic, this project is strongly inspire by the book New Topographics edited by Steidl.

New Topographics is dedicated to the exhibition about new landscape photography that was taking place at the George Eastman House in Rochester (USA) in 1975. These photographers developed together a new photographic vision on landscapes with their own style and methods. Nature isn’t in the centre of the attention, but the people and the way they are associate with their environment is now crucial.

Influential photographers:
Robert Adams, Lewis Baltz, Bernd and Hilla Becher, Joe Deal, Frank Gohlke, Nicholas Nixon, John Schott, Stephen Shore and Henry Wessel Jr.
