About Almansa 2007The Battle of Almansa, fought on April 25th, 1707, was one of the most decisive engagements of the War of the Spanish Succession. After that the only remaining allies of Charles of Habsburg were his supporters in Catalonia and Balearic Islands who felt in 1715. The consequences were the illegal abolishment of the Crown of Aragon and a very long and dark period of persecutions to the Catalan language and culture. |
