About all I need is a moment
What is 'The Moment'?
Each week one of our admins chooses a day and time, at random (Tuesday - Sunday, 8am to 8pm), and posts the info. We all stop what we are doing that day and time (in our respective time zones) and snap a photo.
We then compile the individual images into a mosaic with little blurbs about the moments that each photo represents respectively. We then display this mosaic & description on each members’ Flickr streams, as well as on the all I need is a moment blog.
The goal is to become more connected with the present, with the world around us, with each other, with ourselves.
A little bit of history
This project began with three women, which quickly grew to six. Now that we have come this far, we’ve decided it’s time to expand once again. Hence, this group.
How does the Moment group figure in?
The group pool serves as a showcase of our individual moments throughout time. In this way we are all able to see each photo solo, outside of the mosaic.
There will be weekly threads that act as Moment galleries. Each weekly thread will begin with a posting of the day & time the moment will occur that week. As we snap our photos on that day and time, upload them to Flickr, then add them to the group, we can add them also to that week’s thread, if we want to be included in a mosaic.
The Mosaics
The original six momenters will remain in a single mosaic. Newer members who submit their photos to that week’s thread will be eligible for entry into a second mosaic, made with Big Huge Lab’s Mosaic Maker (Please note that your photos must be accessed by Big Huge Labs for this to work. If you have never gone to Big Huge Labs and specifically clicked on the link that would make your photos inaccessible then you don’t have anything to worry about.), or by the admins using photoshop. This second option can result in some minor alterations to your photo. If you would prefer this not to happen, please contact an admin for discussion.
Both mosaics will be displayed on the all I need is a moment blog, along with links back to each individual photo’s origin on Flickr.
And please, play nice :o)
