About ALISE (Assoc. for Library and Information Science Education)
A few years Professor Charlie Seavey told me that I should get more LIS faculty and graduate students on flickr. We are a pretty collegial group with many 2.0 folks with cameras, so let's see how this group grows. Please feel free to post anything related to the Association for Library and Information Science Education (ALISE).
1) I get many requests how can I download a photo from this group, so let me share the instructions from the FLICKR FAQ:
How do I download a photo?
Select the photo and open the actions menu, then click the '"View all Sizes" link inside the menu. On the next page, choose the size you want to download and click the link in the "Download" section." (Or you can do this)
2) Can I use this photo on my website or school's website?
Yes, if you are in the photo. That's why we post images here. If you use it for some other purpose please check with the photographer for permission.
3) What can I do if I don't want my photo made public?
Please e-mail the photographer and also post a note so we know which one to delete.
4) Why is my photo blurry or not there?
I do my best to take a nice photo of everyone getting the award, but you need to help me. The lighting at places where we give the award is usually poor, and there is often not much room for me to move around. The best way you can help to be sure that you have a good photo is the following:
a) Make sure everyone is looking at the camera
b) Stand still (no changing expressions or nervously moving around on your feet)
c) You might think about what you wear if you know you will get an award and are thinking about having a nice photo. Certain colors bleed or are just too busy
I usually try to take 2 or 3 photos using 1 or 2 cameras and post the best one, but don't like to use a flash (everyone looks bad) and don't have studio lights so please be understanding. We all do this as volunteers. If you want to be sure to have a nice photo, why not ask the ALISE President later and we can take a second staged shot.
5) Can I add my ALISE photos?
Yes, please do. Just join the group and add your photos. Please add metadata tags for the year of the conference. I tend not to add personal identifiers, but you certainly may.
5) Can I join ALISE ?
Sure, you can join ALISE at

Thanks.
