About Old Albany Post Road/Route 9
This group is for any photos taken along the old Albany Post Road and any of its parallels (the various versions of Route 9) that run through the Hudson River valley from New York City to Albany. This is one of the most historic roads in the country. The road travels through the beautiful Hudson River valley past some of America's most historic towns. It passes the homes of at least two US presidents (FDR and Martin van Buren), a Vanderbilt mansion, Frederic Church's home, the CIA (the cooking school, not the spy agency), Bear Mountain Bridge, and many scenes painted by Hudson Valley School painters.
