About Islamic Spain
The "Islamic Spain" group gathers photos of the great monuments of the Iberian Peninsula under Muslim rule (711-1492). The group also includes photos of the monuments in Spain that have Islamic influences such as the mozarab and mudejar churches. Monuments include the Alhambra, the Alcázar of Seville, the Cristo de la Luz in Toledo, the Aljafería Palace in Zaragoza and the Great Mosque of Córdoba. But it also hopes to gather pictures of the lesser known Islamic monuments of the peninsula. For some background check out en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Al-Andalus
