About African Lens - Special Topics About Africa

The dominant representation of Africa today is one of war, poverty, disease and everything that can go wrong with humanity. It is famously referred to as the "forgotten continent".

African Lens is designed as a platform to document and present a visual Africa in an unbiased way . It is also a medium to showcase different aspects of our every day lives and serve as an advocate to compelling stories that need to be told.

We intend to use this group to drive a special topics area on African Lens - where the focus will be to tell African stories around themes.

We will always have 4 special topics open for submission. The best pictures in each theme will be selected and showcased / featured on the African Lens project site.

There are so many stories to tell! Please join us!
