Great Idea Ramona and thanks for the invite.
Other than photography being an addiction, I will scan my stream to find things to submit.
Oh I forgot, I just tonight purcase my first digital camera so in about a week I can freely shoot alllll my addictions :-)

So speaking of this topic, I am looking for a new camera to replace my slow SD100. Anyone have any auggestions? I am looking for a something that can take pictues fast, optical zoom, small, and sexy.

I've several friends with the Sony T7 (the upgrade from the T1) and I've been drooling over the Sony T9 (both previous model's replacement). It fits in the palm of my hand, easily fits inside my purse where it resides at all times for that kodak moment so often lost, 3.1 zoom, 5 megapixels. The only complaint I have of the T1 that I don't know if it's improved in the newer models is time from powering on to taking a photo. My T1 takes approx. 5 seconds...and sometimes those moments are crucial. I know DarkBeans owns a T7 so he may be able to answer that question...and I don't know anyone with the T9 yet. Just my opinions. :P

Thanks for the invite Ramona...I am truly a gaget hound...I have more PDA's and oboslete pieces of electronica that I could easily create a museum...aside from gadget...I suppose playing with my 2 year old son is my favorite addiction!

I think all of us are voyeurs, some of us in a XXX way and some of us in an R way and some of us in a PG way. I'm a voyeur in an "all of the above" way. I love to see new things I've never seen before and I can do that with Adobe Photoshop, Corel 8 and PSP 9 and with my Sony MVC FD 83 which records digital images on floppies. My rechargeable battery went kaput recently so I've go two on order. It has a great lens and is still valued at $190 on Ebay. But, hey! I'm a manipulator, not a photographer. And that's my addiction in a nutshell.

If you're looking for a point-and-shoot digicam, then stick with Canon and look for an upgraded model in the SD series. They're compact and take pretty good images.
If you have the cash to move up to a dSLR, I recommend the Nikon D70s or D50 (depending on your budget) or the Canon Digital Rebel.
Personally, I have a Canon PowerShot S30 when I want to travel light and a Nikon D70 when I want to take more serious photos.

I had my first job as an addiction counsellor and could not understand why I got involved. My real addiction id to the beautiful, the erotic, that which inspires and connects me to life.
Sometimes that takes more mundane and prosaic forms. More of that later though.
