DILO 21st December 2008 - [How to ...]

This will be the group's eighteenth DILO day!

Here's the "how to" bit:

The event date - 21st December 2008

The idea - take as many photos as you like, on the day, of your day.

The (optional) theme for this DILO is Ground Level.

Afterwards - tag your photos dilodec08 and post your five chosen photos to the group. (There is now a pool limiter set allowing every member to post a maximum of five photos).

It would be nice too if you would load ALL your photos taken on the day into your photostream and/or create a set within your own flickr area called, something like, DILO. Then we can see the whole story of your day.

Post a message on the thumbnails thread, add a thumbnail of one of your photos and write a little bit about your day. You can create a link from this message straight to your DILO set.

Please also tell us your location and country.

Please check back before the day for any additional instructions.

Thanks for taking part.

Your photo EXIF data must show the date to be 21st December 2008. Please make sure your camera's clock is set correctly.

If you use film and scan your images, you must re-set the date to the DILO date, otherwise the lovely Hipbot will bounce your photos out of the pool.

Would there be a tool to reset the date in the EXIF data? I shoot in raw mode, and that information isn't preserved in the JPG conversion in Picasa...

Once you've uploaded your image to Flickr, you should see a 'date taken' on the bottom right info on the photo page. If you click through to that you can alter your dates there. If you don't see that, you may be able to click through on 'more properties'.

Any photo that has been through some sort of digital process (even a scanner) should arrive in Flickr with an alterable date.

Let us know if you have any problems and we'll see what we can sort out for you.

Maybe other RAW shooters can help?
