About Somewhere...
A mysterious lone female stands staring out to sea, her gaze and attention fixed beyond the horizon. The central image from The French Lieutenant's Woman by John Fowles and a concept explored throughout art and literature, the woman looking out across the waves, seeking the return of a lover's ship or mourning the one that never returned.
This is a group for photos of women staring out to sea. Simple as that. Think artistic and timeless elegance.
In case it still isn't clear, here's a few pointers:
1. The shot must contain a female - in the whole 'mysterious lone female stands staring out to sea' the female component is quite a critical one.
2. The shot must show the aforementioned female looking out to sea. Women giving cute winks to camera, doing cartwheels or waxing surfboards really don't fit the theme. Most shots will probably be taken from behind, but if a shot from the front fits the theme then it's more than welcome. If a shot doesn't show the sea, but shows a woman staring out across a moody sky then we might sneak it in if it works in this category.
3. Artistic nudity is permitted, but the key is the word 'artistic' - nothing extreme and nothing that looks like a cheap pin-up.
REMOVALS FROM THE GROUP
Okay, if your photo is not exactly within the theme or acceptability then it might fall victim to a particular whim on a particular day and get removed when maybe it wouldn't on another day... unfortunately that's the way it goes. You have the right to appeal, but we also have the right to reply with the recipe for clam chowder badly translated into a random foreign language.
