Finally been able to get around to getting Chiron back together again. Towed her up to the marina I work at a couple of weeks ago and today got the hull and keel prepped for fitting. New studs fitted to keel, hull apperture cleaned out, internal bed cleaned and keel plate painted.
Keel is now happily upright on the trailer and braced in place, so hopefully we just need to add sealant, then drop the hull onto the studs and tighten the nuts!
Like anything ever goes that easily!

Sounds like a tidy job. Is it a tripple keel or fin? If tripple, can the hull sit happily on the two 'outer fins' ?

She's a single deep fin, different set up to the 24's. Took some pics and will post soon.

...and today the keel is finally on! Some filling and fairing to do around the join, plus a little reworking of the newly engineered top rudder bearing and she'll be good to launch. Hoping to get her afloat once more within the next 2 weeks. I'm running a berth holders muster for the marina I work at on the 18th and need her to lug the packed lunches to Otter Ferry!

Thanks for posting the photos - looks a tidy job!
I'd also forgotten what a good looking yacht Chiron is. I love the look of the stern.

Did she float yet?

Next week, weather permitting! Had quite a lot of filling and fairing to do at the keel join. Keel Primiconed today and antifoul hopefully tomorrow, along with an engine test run in the test barrel.

Filling and fairing can be a pain and seem endless.

...and she's afloat, with the mast up. First time in over 2 years. Now to get the boom on and bend the sails on.

Beautiful first sail on Loch Fyne this evening. Boat went like a rocket under full main and No.3 in around 16 knots of wind. Keel still on, no leaks and the modified rudder top bearing worked well! Here's to a few more, before she's back out once more for the winter.

That must be a relief for you. Well done and enjoy the sailing.
