I am now at the stage of quietly panicking.
I need to have her ready for her maiden voyage from the upper reaches of the Mersey to the open sea by the 6th April (Good Friday) Hopefully I will be following Neil and as long as he does not find a sandbank neither will I.
I can't keep the existing name "Ictinus" - it sounds like a skin disease! So, what to call it?
I have been discussing it with my wife and we have come up with various ideas along the lines of Cirrus, Antares, Polaris, Cummulus and the my wife suggested "Passing Cloud".......... I fell off the sofa laughing as I mentally translated it to "Passing Wind"! I have not laughed so much in ages (maybe it's hysteria setting in). Anyway, I think it's a great name and I will certainly need a sense of humour to sail it!
Any other ideas very welcome before I order it off ebay...

Cabin boy John...

ps paypal (ebay) has just told me I can't spend anymore money! Apparently I have reached my spending limit - how weird! Maybe it is fate telling me to think of another name...

Passing Wind does it for me
放屁 is the same in chinese and 屁放き is Japanese, would look good on the stern and tell Helen it is chinese for Passing Cloud

You have to consider what it will sound like over the VHF:-

" Falmouth Coast Guard, we are Passing Wind...."

Valid point! I guess I would not be taken too seriously! Maybe that's a good thing......
Maybe a translation into Latin or French might be better...

Ventus Transiens

Passant du Vent just have to laugh... " Falmouth Coast Guard, we are Passing Wind...." would be hilarious!

I often find consistency is also a factor I am way down in the thick stuff most of the time

It would be "this is Passing Wind" in radio speak and that still sounds silly.:) I've always thought Bob would be a good name for a boat...

Don't start me off on boat names again, you know I can't stop once I start!

"Yellow peril" "Tonto" "Calipso" "Duster" ok! ok! I know.

Good Sailing!
