Hi all, I am now the proud owner of an Achilles 27. It is a very rare model of Achilles that few people are aware of. ................ some people call them an Albin Vega 27 but I don't want to have to leave this site so its an Achilles 27 to me!

It arrived on a wagon - much less stressful than the last time! I have posted some pics.. you will all have a good laugh I am sure!

So... Windsong will soon be up for sale and I shall have to start all over again. Neil and I have had a great half hour sorting through all the contents - an Aladdin's cave! I am just going to have a bit of a sort out and see what else I can find.

Just want to say how much I enjoy this site (group of people) and how grateful I am for all the help I have had from you all. Hope I can still keep in touch even though I won't have an A24 for much longer? Anyway - go and have a laugh at the pics!

Wonder where the phrase "ship shape" comes from?

Vegas are good sea boats. This site might be of interest www.albinvega.co.uk/

Best of luck with the new boat.

Welcome to the dark side...
I have an Achilles Westerly now! Took delivery at Troon yesterday (by road from Fareham) and had the first chance to take a good look round; lots of interesting bits & pieces tucked away, not sure what they all are yet (sadly no escort cards...). Will get the antifoul done then into the water & sail across to Campbeltown with a suitable weather window.
It is a good time to be buying just now, only hope we can sell also.
We looked at Albins, very good sea boats by all accounts, you'll soon be skipping across the Atlantic no doubt. Have fun!

John,
If you look at my introductory notes to the site at the bottom of the first page, you will see that I say it is for all those interested in Achilles yachts. So you don't need to own one and I am sure that all ex owners are still interested in the breed. Personally I have made freinds from the site and would welcome continuing input from all. I think once you have been on the site for a bit you get to know who has the different skills and knowledge and it would be a shame to lose any of that. Good luck with the sale and the new boat. Let me know if you want an ad on the main site.

Thanks Norman - I shall get Windsong ready for sale and put together an advert. Useful links Andrew and happy new boat Jendave!

- It has taken me a day and a half just to empty it! Going out for a pint to celebrate - oh and I found a stash of condoms under the bunk with another box of new underpants.... makes you wonder?
