Hi all,

Just a quick mail to give you some background on a project from over the pond.

My family and I happily sailed A450 (A24) for many happy years. Unfortunatly I could not bring my 24 with me when I moved to Canada 6 years ago.

My search for a simular boat ended with me buying a Catalina 22, and then last year trading up to a Coronado 25. The funny thing is that the Achilles, Catalina and Coronado boats were all designed by a guy called Butler !

Anyhow, one of our members in the group...

groups.yahoo.com/group/Coronado25/

is another fellow British guy who is currently preparing his boat for a transatlantic trip to bring himself back to British shores.

My question is does anyone have any hot tips for this sort of a voyage... can anyone offer him any kind of assistance for the voyage, can anyone for example arrange a sail out to meet him on arrival, or offer temporary berth space when he gets there...

Any info would be great, and as an idea we have like for like boats, near as damn it with a designer of the same name, maybe our moderators should talk about a twinning of the clubs ? any thoughts or info do let me know.

Thanks,

John.

I would be happy to put a link from the Achilles site and to put a mention in the news. Was this what was envisaged?

I think it would be a good start, perhaps some form of exchange of information between groups, comparison of boats etc.
