I've got Gary Friedman's book "The Complete Guide to Sony's Alpha 300 and 350 Digital SLR Cameras". I couldn't buy it in printed form but downloaded it as a pdf ebook from his web site. I thoroughly recommend it!

how specific to the camera were these books? I have thought about getting one if it really is geared towards getting the best out of the camera but if it's just general DSLR info then everything you need is on the net for free.....
??

The clue is in the title to the book :-) Of course there is some general and very good advice on taking photos with a DSLR, but the book is very specific to the A300. I wouldn't have recommended it otherwise.

cool thanks, only reason I asked was because I bought a product book once and it had a 2 page user guide in the front which consisted of a key telling you where the buttons were and the rest was generic!!!!
might purchase it soon
