About Poem on the Range: Mapping places through iconic American poems

Take your poetic license and hit the road! The Academy of American Poets is launching an ongoing and collaborative multimedia-mapping project—picturing poetry in place—and we need your help. Contribute to the “Poem on the Range” map by sharing your footage of landmarks, cities, dwellings, streets, roadside ephemera, and other places immortalized by iconic poems. Submit videos or pictures from a poetic pilgrimage, or go the extra mile by capturing the experience on video while you read the poem on-site. Upload and geotag your videos or photographs to our "Poem on the Range" group. Include poem title and poet's name in caption, and tag your submission with a short note on what the poem, place, or poet means to you. Need poems to roam by? Get lost (and started) with a selection of poems about place by visiting www.poets.org/ontherange.
