About Lights, Lamps & Lighting Design - Illuminate me!

This groups aims to bring together high quality photos of the best and most interesting examples in lights, lighting, luminaire, light object and lamp design. We are focusing in particular on classic lamp designs from the beginning of the 20th century to the present day, but are also interested in seeing examples of traditional lighting design (chandeliers etc), industrial interior lighting design, as well as art installations and other innovative uses of lighting.

In terms of image style and quality we are looking for high quality shots of reasonable size and clarity where the light object is the primary subject of the shot. Abstract and interpretive shots are especially welcome!

Please do contribute to the discussion threads, start your own threads about the lamps, designers, or design houses which most interest you, and make suggestions for how we can continue to grow and improve the group.

This group is not for night light and city shots, exterior shots of illuminated buildings/houses, sunsets, traffic lights (unless it's that installation outside Canary Wharf), street lights (unless the subject is the design of the light), firelight, firelighters, candle light, or dinner by candlelight (unless I'm invited). If you're still not sure check this thread for examples of beautiful shots which are nevertheless inappropriate.

Please don't be offended if we remove a shot. This will be a heavily moderated group, but also a very open group, so if you have any questions, just start a discussion topic.
