About Hull
Welcome!
Group Philosophy
The purpose of this group is to document the city of Kingston Upon Hull, its people, its culture, and its immediate surroundings. The idea is to show the city of Hull in its modern-day context and to record the photographic work that is taking place in the city.
The group is also a place for local photographers to come together to share ideas and seek inspiration, and we encourage members to get involved in the various discussions, competitions and meets that take place.
Please ensure that a picture added to the pool is relevant to this philosophy; generally it should be taken within the geographical area of the city and its immediate surrounding, or have some other clear link to the city, and its relevance to the pool should be obvious either visually in the subject matter depicted, or through additional context provided in the map, title, description and tags. When adding additional details, please bear in mind that a little more detail than just a "Hull" tag is much appreciated! The easiest way to make the location of your picture obvious is to use Flickr's geotagging capabilities.
If your picture is not relevant to the pool but you still wish to share it with Hull group members, there will almost certainly be a suitable discussion thread to add it to, such as the Where Have You Been? thread, or one of the monthly competitions. If there isn't an appropriate discussion already, please start one! You might also consider adding your photo to one of a number of other groups listed below.
If you do add your photo to the pool, please bear in mind that photos that are considered not relevant may be removed without warning, although the Admins will usually try and contact you for clarification first. If you feel that your picture has been removed in error then please contact one of the Admins by FlickrMail. You can avoid having a picture mistakenly removed from the group by being careful to add relevant detail to your picture's description, tags, map and title.
Introduce Yourself
If you've just joined pop along to the Face to name thread and show us who you are, and tell us all a bit about yourself.
