About MiMO Architecture
Miami Modern or MiMO architecture is a popular movement from the mid-century. This style has recently began getting recognition not only locally but Internationally - best known MiMO architect is Morris Lapidus (whose Fontainebleau, Eden Roc, Seacoast Towers, Deauville, and Di Lido, although typically considered Art Deco, are actually prime examples of MiMO).
Classifying a structure as "MiMO" can be controversial - there's a lot of Art Deco in the movement with a kind of "futuristic and science fiction" feel to it. The movement has roots in the Bauhaus movement with its futuristic and streamline concept.
The purpose of this group is to add architecture that is MiMO in nature, even if we are not sure if they truly are of the Miami Modern Movement.
