Nike+ Mac Application
|
I am planning on writing an application for the Mac to handle the data captured on the iPod by the Nike+ module.
Having looked at the data, it contains some useful info and I find the Nike+ site rather limited in how you can look at your run data.
At this point I am looking to find out if anyone would be interested in a desktop application (Mac-only) and what features you'd like it to have.
The app will not be able to communicate with the Nike+ site but will have access to all the run data on your iPod.

If you can do graphs (like the ones on runningahead.com), compare runs, highlight mile/km splits i'd be interested in testing your product.
Workoutdump.com have a good take on alternative run comparisons
p.s. Web badges don't interest me as much unless you can automagically upload them via flickr.
p.p.s. Also you got to be able to deal with bulk data upload.

I would like to use it. Here are some things I think would be useful:
* Graphs that show your progress over time, either with the same route, or with how far you manage to run in the (example) 60 minutes.
* Map integration. Let me put my runs on a map like on Nike+
* Route playlist planning. Don't know if that would be useful, but I thought it would be cool if I could put up a map for my run, grab data from previous runs of the same route, mark different sections of the run with a marker (like part 1, part 2 etc), and then drag in songs from iTunes to fit the different parts. Like power songs in the hills, slower stuff when it's flat etc.
* Some way to integrate the running with iCal. Bitch on me if I'm lazy.
* OS X widgets. The Nike ones do suck. They show km as miles, and need passwords about 200 times a day.

I started it and it is started, but I didn't get a lot of feedback so didn't do much to it.
If you'd like a copy of what I have, you are welcome. I'd be interested to see if it even works for someone else.
