Trouble with trading. Any suggestions?
|
I've run into a speed bump trading atc's with a few people through flickr. At the moment I have decided only to trade with people from websites you can give/receive trading/swap ratings on so I know who gets positive feedback or to those I have already had positive experiences with. It seems a shame that I should have to do that but I don't want to get stiffed again.
Does anyone have any other suggestions on how to cure this problem?

This is a difficult topic to address. I have done 3 trades via Flickr, some through this group, some random. With all my trades I haven't had any trouble. In fact, if anything, I was the trouble (I tend to run a little late with everything, and didn't get my swap out as quickly as I would have liked, though no deadline was set.)
Perhaps setting deadlines with prospective trade partners would be a good idea? I know it is disheartening to trade with someone and get nothing in return, but you can always just take heart in that your cards will be enjoyed whether or not you get something back.

I have traded here with about 8 different people and have had no problems whatsoever. In fact all of them have been generous traders and prompt with posting. The standard of work has also been very high.
I started with one trade then looked at contact list. Also check out comments left. You will soon get a good picture of reliable traders.

That's a good idea. I'll try that first.

I say only trade with people that live in your local area, so I can have ALL your cards.
Just kidding.
ATCards.com seems to have it down for reliable traders/feedback. I do most of my swapping there now.

Pick me - I'm a good trader! Check out my ATCs... several comments on my TRADED ones... Let me know if you see any AVAILABLE for Trade that interest you... I won't let you down! Sometimes I am a bit delayed in sending as I work shift work, but I never disappoint - I always get the envelope out eventually and I email if there is a delay... don't lose faith!

I'm with LiA F..
If I am late, I send a little extra stuff to compensate for the delay, but normally, I try to just enjoy the wait for the return mail.

I have a for trade section..there are only 2 currently up as I havent scanned the rest, in the new few weeks I'll post when they are all up!
try ATCards.com, seems to be the most reliable trading site and there are always a lot of swaps going on.
I've also traded with a few people on a group on livejournal, most of them are very serious about trading and fun cards!
