04 Sep 11 - This group is in memory of the old Midian City, Apocalypse and Leviathan sims in Second Life - The sims as they were don't exist any longer. Enjoy this little time-travel through all the different styles of inspiration Midian's RP environment gave to SL artists.
If anybody knows of images that simply HAVE to be in the pool - please post me the links to the images in the 'Nominations' thread.
About Midian City - Shards of a Looking Glass
Second Life's Midian City has been representative of various creative outlets ever since it was created. Be it in the daily roleplay scenerios, character creations, writing styles of their players - or the amazing build by Baal Zobel and the many others who joined the Midian City RP Community during the course of its existance.
Apart from the RP, the sim has attracted SL photographers and artist for their creations. When you're there looking at Midian, it is often too much to take in - but the photos that have been created are a bit like peering through the haze and seeing some gem, regardless of how ugly the 'roleplay environment of the city' is intended to be sometimes.
Everybody has their own view on this 'bizarre beauty' or 'violent uglyness' - this group is an art collection representing all these different aspects and 'shards' of how Midian City is seen and has developed.
What started out as a quarter sim is now grown to proud 3 sims full of rich details - Midian City, Apocalypse and the newests addition, Midian's mainland 'Leviathan' which is soon to be connected to the other 2. Leviathan has been designed and build by Charles Noble and can be visited already OOCly. And inspire you to more fantastic images!
