Nestled along the Atlantic coast, bisected by the St. Johns River and sprinkled with an intricate web of tributaries and pristine wetlands, Jacksonville is a distinctively aquatic city. The city itself is the 13th most populous in the United States with nearly 800,000 residents.

The Jacksonville metropolitan area stretches along 90 miles of beautiful and diverse beaches between the northern tip of Amelia Island and the southern tip of Anastasia Island. Nicknamed the "First Coast," the area includes historic St. Augustine - the oldest continually inhabited city in the United States - and Fernandina Beach, a historic pirate town on the only island in America to have been under the rule of eight different flags. Collectively, the five-county metropolitan area is home to more than 1.3 million people.
