Edinburgh is Scotland's historical capital city. The city boasts an extensive collection of distinctive architecture and can be characterized by its thriving culture and arts community.

Edinburgh offers visitors a variety of museums and galleries, including Scotland's National Portrait Gallery and Gallery of Modern Art. Each year the city hosts a variety of world class festivals, including the Edinburgh International Festival, the Edinburgh Film Festival, the Fringe Festival, Jazz Festival and the Hogmanay (New Year's) celebrations. These events attract a variety of visitors who enjoy an assorted selection of cultural performances and exhibitions from across the globe.

One of the most popular attractions is the magnificent Edinburgh Castle, situated in the centre of town, as well as the historic Holyrood Palace. Visitors to Edinburgh can also enjoy exploring the many diverse restaurants, pubs and cafes the city has to offer.
