About Photographers for Peace and Non-Violence / Fotografos por la Paz

During the last 50 years, photographers have made a key contribution in creating conciousness on the subject of war and violence. Thanks to phorograhy we have been able to see, not just the horrors of war and physical violence, but also racial, economic, sexual and psichological violence.
Today this consciousness exists but wee need to take a new step forward: Peace isn't just the absence of wars, it's much more: it is tolerance, solidarity, human diversity coming together, and much more. In orden to build a world in peace and without violence we need images of this world we want to build.
We invite all photographers, professionals and amateur alike, to join this vision and contribute inspiring photos in this group.

Los fotografos en los ultimos 50 años han hecho un aporte importantísimo en crear conciencia sobre el tema de la guerra y la violencia. Gracias a la fotografía es que hemos podido ver los horrores, no sólo de la guerra y la violencia física, sino también de la violencia racial, económica, sexual y psicologica.
Hoy esa conciencia existe, pero necesitamos ir un paso más adelante: La paz no es solamente la ausencia de guerras, es mucho más que eso: es la tolerancia, es la solidaridad, es la diversidad humana que se encuentra, y mucho más. Para construir un mundo en paz y sin violencia necesitamos imágenes de ese mundo que queremos construir.
