About The Rube Goldberg machine - gas factory
On flickr there is explore, many awards groups (I can just say "award machines") and many other stuffs that try to achieve some hierarchy systems, or to put podium in places where they don't exist and in people's heads!
There is nice and convivial groups too, but more "generalist", and there is not much space for critic.
Some self-styled"critical" groups create ranking, podiums, "surreal" hierarchy, sometimes even little dirty fiddlings... it's contrasting with reality that shows that so many people do self photographic researchs... shoot!
We're fed up! Really!
There is no better or less good... sugar we are here to develop creativity or inventiveness, we are not here to make again some foolish "quirks" that are not uncommon and take part in some society facts...
The idea is to make constructive critics on virtually every photo in the pool.
Funny, absurd, crazy, wilds comments are welcome, but don't may stupidly attack group members.
Rules:
- we post 3 photos at the same time, in series
- we must comment and vote at least for 3 previous series when we want to post
- we add tags to at least 9 photos (leave the tag concerning the photo's problem on the tag column at right) and we comment at least 3 photos (1 of every series)
- someone can't post more than two series on the bounce, and the pool is limited to 12 pictures per day
For the vote we point up problems that are most obvious, interesting, controversy, important, etc...
How?
11 points are often mentionned:
- composition (Com)
- light, lighting ( Lum)
- Color / color harmony, contrast, or B&W quality (Cou)
- Focusing / Blur (Mis)
- Framing (Cad)
- Technique (Tec)
- Atmosphere (Amb)
- Feelings (Res)
- Idea (Id)
- Message (Mes)
- Moment (Mom)
- Other (Aut)
Used tags are made from first three letters of french words (see french translation), are used to find photos and invite them... to have the same tags for the whole group
We can use + or ~ to say if some characteristics are negative or positive
When commenting we can use group's link:

We vote by adding, for example, one or more tag(s) "Id" if one problem of the picture is its idea, then "Id2", "Id3", etc... when several people vote for the same problem.
All pictures that have 3 or more tags for a same problem can be posted to specially made groups, where some discussions or other activities could take place.
There is an "icon" too (not an award, just for visibility):
