About Weather on the Wing
Please read before posting. Non-conforming posts are unlikely to be accepted.
This group highlights pictures of weather taken in flight. The rules are:
1) The picture must have been taken from some kind of aircraft in flight (not from the ground or from a building or tower; tethered balloons and parachutes are OK).
2)The photo must prominently depict visible elements of
weather, though it is OK to include landscape elements.
3) Masterpieces are certainly not necessary, but please try to observe the elementary principles of composition, line, symmetry, focus, exposure, and interesting subject. Random snapshots of featureless cloud decks or patternless fields of small clouds, for example, are not appropriate.
4) If any part of the aircraft (e.g. a wing) is visible in the photo, it should harmonize with the composition and be an active compositional element, and not just be arbitrarily sticking out into the frame. (A troublesome wing can often be removed by judicious cropping or retouching.)
