deadly idea far play .. you should check out some of the second hand stores in town... i saw a stack of stuff for next to nothing ( 2&3 euro) .. mad props dresses etc.. which would really make it.

and yeah i was thinking of just going into second hand shops to get loads of stuff, where is this one you're talking about??
im thinking loads of streamers and colourful material dragged on the trees, just loads of colour and fairy-tale like things floating about!
and we should deffo getting some sort of sound system along so we can listen to FATM ;) inspiration!
The only problem i can think of (apart from perhaps the cold) would be where would we set up for the make up artists and models - to get changed etc?
i wanna model in this shoot aswel so i'll do my own make up before hand and hair to avoid what happened last time cause i really want to shoot alot aswel!
but im glad people are liking this idea!! :D

Ah Killiney Hill is a great spot - and Ive always just used the car park as a makeup/hair/changing spot - its not tooo limiting as far as where you can get to easily?

theres a few 2nd hand places just off the half penny bridge in town.. Ye the carpark would be perfect.. pray for good weather thou... i used this mad bubble machine b4 for a music video it looked fantastic if you want a lend of it your more then welcome to it :)

17th Jan is good.... sensing a large flask of hot whisky might be mandatory in the kit-bag. A gas fired hot air blower could go down well too.

I'm back from Berlin on the 16th, so 17th should be good for me.
I think it might be an idea to stock up on warm heavy coats/blankets and some thermos flasks (for tea, of course) ;-)

Hi Anouska,
The people that have confirmed so far, can you seperate the names out into groups: Photogs, Models, MUA/Hair?
That way its much easier to see at a glance in which department we're lacking numbers.
I may have a model thats interested. She has to get back to me though, as she may be doing exams.

You can get the dart to Dalkey or Killiney and walk up the Hill.
(That's how I've gotten there before).
Not the best if you have a lot of gear to carry.
I'm not sure about Buses to the area.

Oh right sorry I'll pput her on the list! and yeah casting calls will be good, i have another model who is extremely beautiful who said she might come along!
I havnt actually put a casting call up on any of the sites cause I like to take photos of people i know, as in how they photograph, but if anyone else wants to do that feel free, the more the merrier!

A few of us did a fashion student shoot a few weeks before Christmas.
A few tips: It is cold up there! Blankets for the models are essential.
and there are distances to cover. If a horse is not possible at least a few ponies for carrying the gear! The day we were there we found a coffee shop working with decent latte-at the Killiney village gate, very limited parking.
Great backgrounds of Killiney Bay but some climbing in strong boots required-for all the team. Treat it as the lower Himalayas and we will be fine!

danielle - yeah hopefully all the girls will still bring clothes aswel, i for one will be bringing LOADS! so just bring whatever you can on the day just cause meeting up before hand probally wont be that possible as people are still snowed in (including me!!) but if people are up for it thatd be grand.

To help the day go smoothly can we fill the following roles:

A few additional points:
Everyone works on a TF* basis however, we have at almost all meet ups tried to cover costs for MUA's and contribute to costs for models. In some cases additional costs like location & refreshments have been incurred - the charge is usually 10 - 20 euro per photographer.
In addition, please submit your high res images to either Flickr with the tags Dublin Strobist and/or to the designated image collector within two weeks or miss out on the opportunity to participate in future Dublin Strobist events.
Can I also suggest creating a new topic to discuss themes and to post wardrobe options.
