09 Jul 11 - SOOC images are Pictures As Shot. Manipulated images will be removed. No processing in or out of camera.. No color or contrast adjustments, composites, layers, conversions (to black & white), sharpening, borders, watermarks, straightening - just SOOC. Don't molest the picture. Make sure the EXIF info is on, otherwise the picture will be treated like a drunken suspect..

About SOOC (Straight Out of the Camera)

This group is for those who like to get it right in the camera.

Straight. Out. Of. The. Camera.

Pictures that have NOT been adjusted, converted, plugin-ized, scanned, processed, photoshopped, illustrated. That means no post-processing. The only allowable modification is resizing.

Trust your camera. Trust yourself.

(There is a super-secret way we can tell, so if it's not a SOOC image, it'll be removed.)

--------------
So, rules:

SOOC is when the picture is straight out of the camera. The ONLY allowable modifications are resizing (for the web) and cropping. No adjustments. No conversions. No sharpening, no blurring, no color or contrast adjustments, actions, plugins. Straight out of the camera.

RAW. The default jpeg from a RAW file. Open the RAW file in the converter and do a "Save as JPEG". This would give the image as shot by the camera. Any other adjustments isnt SOOC.

Film. Scanning a print or negative is allowed, but ONLY if the scanned image is the default output. Any other adjustment isnt SOOC.

Watermarks: Does your camera put a watermark on your image? So, no.

In camera adjustments: Only adjustments allowed in camera is BEFORE you take the shot, not after.

In camera panoramas: Sure, but please, thats stretching it. See above.

If your image has been removed, take a look here to see why:
