About Derwent Valley Heritage WayThe River Derwent rises on Bleaklow helping to fill the Upper Derwent Reservoirs. it flows down through Baslow, Matlock, Bepler and Derby to join the Trent at Shardlow. The Derwent Valley Heritage Way walk has been designated from Heatherdene Car Park by Ladybower Reservoir to where it joins the Trent, although at Slippery Stones above Howden Reservoir there is the splendid packhorse bridge transported and rebuilt from its original site, the flooded village of Derwent. The section from Matlock to Derby has been designated as a World Heritage Site. As well as heritage buildings inh the valley, any pics of Slippery Stones, Fairholmes, Dams, Dambusters material, etc are also welcome. Photographs are mooorland, Kinder Scout etc except where the River Derwent rises in Bleaklow are best put onto other pools. VIDEO NOW ALLOWED |
