About Paul McCobb Designs
Paul and Mollie McCobb were my parents. Unfortunately my father died in 1969 when I was 9 and that was the end of Paul McCobb Designs. Though he has often been called one of the greatest American mid century designers he has not received the notoriety and acclaim as other mid century furniture designers.
I grew up in Manhattan in the 1960's in a virtual showroom of McCobb designs (you can see photos of our home on East 74th Street early in the group photo pool) but unfortunately only own a few pieces of McCobb furniture and dinnerware.
I've always enjoyed coming across photos of the designs online and in magazines and love to read about collectors' excitement on the "find" of a piece, and so I started this group as a place to post them.
Unfortunately I am no expert on my father's designs. People often ask me to identify pieces and usually all I can do is guess. Many collectors in this group have a better knowledge of the various lines and manufacturers than I do. But please feel free to ask!
