About Darfur Crisis

Relief international is a Non-Govermental Non-Profit making organisation aimed at the upliftment of individuals in crisis ridden areas.

The current humanitarian crisis in the Darfur region of Western Sudan is one of the most severe, potentially lethal, and disruptive humanitarian emergency in the world today. Out of a total population of 6.5 million people living in Darfur, roughly half, 3.4 million people, have been directly affected by conflict, violence, displacement, and famine. More than 200,000 people are living as refugees in neighboring Chad and another 1.8 million remain as internally displaced persons (IDPs) within Darfur. Humanitarian agencies in Darfur indicate that although this crisis has been ongoing for almost two years, the disruptive effects on agriculture, food security, livestock, education, health, and personal security could last for many years to come.

In an effort to find long-term solutions, Relief International is working in conjunction with various organizations and the Government of Sudan to increase the health, physical security and economic well-being of the vulnerable populations.

Emergency Relief -RI is calling on donations from organisations, companies and individuals to help curb this crisis.Essential relief commodities are being distributed to the most vulnerable populations. Furthermore, RI is addressing the serious health problems affecting the population due to serious gaps in nutritious foods available to women and childrenFull Story.
