History:

The international dance music festival Creamfields is renowned worldwide. It first started back in the late 90's and was the brainchild of James Barton, the owner of Liverpool dance superclub Cream. Traditionally it is held over the August Bank Holiday weekend, where the first event was staged in Winchester back in 1998. Then it moved to the old Liverpool Speke Airport for 7 years and now resides near a small town in Cheshire called Daresbury.

...and has been host to many top international DJ's and live dance acts including: Massive Attack, Tiesto, John Digweed, Sasha, The Prodigy, Basement Jaxx, Paul Oakenfold, Armin van Buuren, Pete Tong, Faithless, Eddie Halliwell, Payl van Dyk, Ferry Corsten, Roni Size, Fat Boy Slim, Erick Morillo, The Chemical Brothers, Underworld, Deep Dish, Judge Jules, Pendulum, David Guetta, Deadmau5, Swedish House Mafia, Kasabian, Scissor Sisters, Groove Armada, Carl Cox, Dizzee Rascal, James Zabiela, Hernán Cattaneo, Felix Da Housecat and many more. It was also held in Ireland from 2000-2 and has hosted worldwide festivals in the following cities:

Andalucia (Spain), Punchestown (Ireland), Buenos Aires (Argentina), Istanbul (Turkey), Mexico City (Mexico), Moscow (Russia), Prague (Czech Republic), Santiago (Chile), Rio de Janeiro, Curitiba, Belo Horizonte, Florianopolis (Brazil), Wrocław (Poland), Lima (Peru), Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth, Sydney (Australia), Malta (Malta), Punta del Este (Uruguay), Vilnius (Lithuania) and Lisbon (Portugal).

The newest edition to these festivals was in Abu Dhabi in the Middle East in Dec 2010, now in its second year.
