The purpose of this group is to share beautiful images from the island of Samos, Greece.
Only 2 photos per day permitted.
Subject matter must be from Samos and have some clear relevance to Samos.
Pictures of people, objects, events etc. are permitted as long as they are of good quality and have cultural, historic or some general interest. For example photos of people dancing in a village fair are acceptable, photos of you and your friends enjoying saganaki in a tavern are probably not.
Avoid posting images with the same subject.
Avoid trivial images such as typical tourist snap-shots.
Post the very best images you have. We expect, high resolution, good lighting, unique subject matter and good framing.
Please refrain from using text on your images (websites, ads, title, name). If you really insist on including a copyright notice please do it with small inconspicuous fonts.
Title and tag your images appropriately. (name subject, location, event etc.)
The objective is to collect beautiful images of high quality that describe Samos and life in Samos in the best way. We don’t want to create a huge archive with all sorts of images.
Our aim is quality rather than quantity.
About Samos:
Samos is a Greek island in the Eastern Aegean sea. It is located between the island of Chios to the North, the islands of Ikaria and Fourni West, Turkey in the East and the island of Patmos to the South.
The island of Samos, at 43 km long and 13 km wide, covers an area of 478 km², making it one of the largest Greek Islands. It is also one of the most mountainous yet, green and fertile islands in the Aegean.
The inhabitants of Samos enjoy a typical Mediterannean climate with mild winters and warm summers. The economy is based on tourism, agriculture and services. Samian wine, especially the sweet Samos Doux made exclusively from muscat grapes, is world famous and has won several prestigious awards.
