About Rarely seen in a zoo!

This is a group made for zoo-lovers , people who have a passion for animals (and photography of course). Some people might think that all zoos are the same.
Elephants , tigers , bears.... but they're not.
This group goes searching for animals not often seen in a zoo.
We can discuss special exhibits in the topics , those exhibits that make a common animal fun looking at... but the pool is for the special ones.

Ok , how are we going to select the animals that are allowed in the pool?

app.isis.org/abstracts/abs.asp

ISIS stands for 'International Species Information System' and contains lists of animal species found in zoos. We are looking for those animals with less then 250 individuals in zoos worldwide.
(I know that ISIS isn't complete and not always updated , but perfect to lead us to a good tool to manage the pool).

Please be helpful to other visitors.
TAG your picture added to the pool with the word 'ZOO'
and the following information if available...
-location , country and city
-name of the zoo
-common English name
-Taxonomic name.

Feel free to add any link you find interesting , comments you'd like to add , or tell us your feelings and thoughts seeing these animals.
(http://www.waza.org/home/index.php?main=home for instance provides interesting info on the animals in zoos , wikimedia???)

An example?

kongopauw

This is a congo peafowl...
The species can be seen in 29 zoos , 123 birds , and 9 are born in the last 6 months.
This picture was taken in the Antwerp zoo (studbook keeper for the species) and it is a male.

(SO please , I know tigers are rare in the wild , but they are not rare in zooss - SO DON'T add those , ....we are NOT looking for animals that are rare in the wild , but ARE rare in a zoo)
