About The Azores (Região Autónoma dos Açores)

This is the home for photos from the spectacular and beautiful islands in the Atlantic Ocean. You are invited to post as many photos as you like. Please make sure that they have to deal with the topic of this group only. This might include photos of the landscape, people, special items and other things or situations you might think of.




For those of you who are visiting this group to get an idea how life is looking like on the Ilhas dos Açores (port.), this group should be helpful.

The photos in this group might be taken at:
- São Miguel and Santa Maria ("Grupo Oriental")
- Faial, Pico, São Jorge, Graciosa and Terceira ("Grupo Central")
- Corvo and Flores ("Grupo Ocidental")
- and the eight small "Formigas" of course...

A lot of useful informations can be found in the Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Azores).

Geotagging is a little bit difficult currently, because the map Flickr uses is not detailed enough to zoom in far enough. If you can identify the location where you have taken the photo(s), please try to add a geotag!
