09 Sep 08 - When I read about the Senryu, I thought about a group I belong to called Camera Haiku, it seemed only natural to start a new group reflecting this captivating theme...Humanness. Photography has always lent itself to this theme. Capture the essence of the Senryu in a photo and share it here! Simple magical moments that make us smile! The spirit of Humanity!
Please include people, no matter how obscure or even partially, in your photos!
Unfortunately, if you do not your photo will be deleted.

About The Senryu
Please submit photos with the theme of Humanness...the subjects of your photos must be people. Please no nudity or violence... The Senryu is a celebration of LIFE!
The Senryu is a Japanese form of poetry much the same as Haiku, but rather than nature as its subject, people are the focus of this literary art. Imagine a story of humanness in very few words and then picture it as a photograph...This is what our group is about...

a senryu sequence...
when I come late to bed
I move your leg flung over my side -
that warm gate
nights you're not here
I inch toward the middle
of this boat, balancing
when I turn over in sleep
you turn, I turn, you turn,
I turn, you
some nights you tug the edge
of my pillow under your cheek,
look in my dream
pulling the white sheet
over your bare shoulder
I marry you again
