19 Aug 10 - Please note that this group is only for students who are studying with a teacher of Miksang in a formal way (ie taking classes in person). The public "Miksang" group is for folks who are practicing on their own or experimenting or curious. This group is private not to hide any secrets but so those who are formally doing Miksang practice - which is more than just taking and posting pictures - can talk about the teachings together.

About Miksang - Teachers and Students Forum

This group exists solely to continue the teachings of Miksang Dharma for teachers and students. One must have taken Miksang courses and/or studied as a teacher to become a member. We hope to continue the learning begun in the classes by discussing our responses to each other's photographs.

More information about Miksang and the Miksang Dharma can be found at www.miksang.org.

Rules/Guidelines:

1. Please state in your photo's description what you were aiming for in the photo, using the standardized terms we all learned in class (color, light, space, dot in space, ordinary personal world, etc.).

2. Please also use these terms in your photo's tags.

3. If you did not originally take the photo using the discipline and process learned in class, but, on reviewing it, you think that it is a Miksang photo, please explain that.

4. For every photo you post, please view and comment on at least one (preferably two) photos from other people.

5. When you are reviewing the photos in this group, please use your first perceptions, just like you do when you are photographing Miksang. When commenting, compare your perception with what the photographer states their perception was. This adds insight to the feedback, especially as we get into the myriad parts of Level 2.
