Sweet. Hope you like? I thought my test shots came out good, but I think you need to really have that close to get the full effect. I had it like 6-8 feet away and it didn't quite do the trick as well as I expected.
I think 1-5 feet puts it in a better position, but still have to retest that myself.
Have fun

would love to get the grid, but I dropped my beauty dish and it bent. tried to pull it out, but it wasn't perfect, so not sure if I can get the grid in it now.

Oh, I wish!
I ordered the beauty dish, a diffusion sock, and the grid, but stuff was back-ordered, so they split the order in two. Something went wrong, because I now have two beauty dishes, no sock, and no grid :S
Using a grid makes so much sense to me because it gives more control over the light (I assume). I don't think I'll really makes a difference for shots taken outside, but it's a different matter inside where light bounces.

I LOVE the Beauty Dish with Grid...The grid rarely comes off unless I am doing beauty head shots....otherwise the grid stays on and gives me so much more control of light and spill

Great stuff k_rish1906...
Yeah I love how the light falls off and the extra contouring the grid adds to the light from the BD.
Are you using the Kacey 20 degree or the AB 40 degree?

I love my grids for the normal Paul Buff reflectors. Especially when a light is a kicker.
I am going to have to get a grid for my dish.

I almost exclusively use the beauty dish with the grid just because of spill control. It' makes for a great gelled key light because it provides enough softness but with less area . The problem I had without the grid is the broad outer halo if it is angled onto a subject - it usually spilled out onto the background. It's pretty easy to see the bare bulb at an extreme angle, that's where the bleed was coming from.
Before I went with the grid though, I did find a way to reduce most of the spill - I have a black aluminum material (but I'm sure black cardboard and other stuff work) that I placed around the diameter of the dish that stuck out an extra 12 inches - provided it's black, that nearly kills all of the spill, although not as easy to move around as the grid.
