Join in with the festival’s huge mobile phone ‘Portrait of the City’ competition.
Upload your instant photos of you and your friends in city settings on our group. Daily selections of the funniest, saddest, beautiful and interesting faces of Birmingham will appear on the Big Screen and online.
Send in your mobile phone pics by going online; by MMS messaging or through Birmingham’s new free WiFi access, supplied by Digital Birmingham by logging onto www.freebirmingham.fiz the city’s new free information zone.
Our selection panel features celebrated veteran photographer Eamon McCabe, Birmingham’s rising star Andrew Jackson and
Nathan Tromans, Course Director in BA Visual Communication at Birmingham City University.
The prize to be awarded on Wednesday 18th June will be a 5 megapixel camera phone generously provided by the Carphone
Warehouse.
Immediately following the New Generation Arts Festival, your photos will be added to TheBigPicture, the regional world record
attempt to gather 100,000 photos organised by Audiences Central, see www.inthebigpicture.co.uk for details.
