Inspired by David Hobby's trip to Dubai to Gulf Photo Plus (GPP) 2008 and of course his infinite wisdom about off camera flash, a group of 4 meet on Umm Sequeim Beach (next to the Al Arab Hotel) on 17 May 2008 to hone in on a few of the Master's techniques. We hope to meet at least twice a month to try out a few different lighting set ups and to one day rise to the heights to the Master himself. Thanks to the GPP 2008 folks, Karen in particular, and Mohammed her successor, we welcome all in Dubai (and from wherever) to join us on our journey of better knowledge, better photos and of course to have some serious fun in the process. Maybe 'Less Gear, More Brain, Better Light and Fun to Boot'.
Off course inspirational input of Chase Javis, his dedicated team and the Right Honourable Joe McNally are worth our highest praise for both their input at GPP 2008 and for opening up the world of knowledge to amateur photographers without whom we would never aspire to the Master Class.
