About Evil Experiments

Calling all guinea pigs!
Submit yourself to evil experiments in the name of SCIENCE Today!!!

Everyone perceives images differently. A single picture can provoke in different people a range of emotions that stretches from disinterest to disgust to anger through to joy.
Through a series of visual 'experiments' we want to squeeze inside your superior skull and take a peek through those beautiful eyes to snatch a glimpse of what it's like to experience art and the world as you.
To put it simply please take part in our "experiments", which aim to build up a body of information on visual perception.
Experiments will either appear as discussions or occasionally as pictures in the pool.

To take part:

Responding to an experiment:

1. click one of the discussion's above, name "experiments".
2. This will take you to a discussion with a photo and the rules pasted at the top. Read the rules and follow them.

Starting an experiment:

1. Go to your photostream and click on the photo you wish to use.
2. Click on the all sizes button above your photo.
3. On the new page where it says avalible sizes click on "small".
4. Now scroll down to the box which says "Copy and paste this HTML into your webpage:" Copy the text in this box.
5.Start a new thread by clicking "post a new topic"
6. Name the topic "experiment # (whatever number it is")
7. Paste the text you copied from the box which said "Copy and paste this HTML into your webpage:" into the "Your Post" box.
8. Now type in the rules of your experiment. If you wish copy the rules from another experiment to save typing it all out.
9. Now press start topic
Contrags you have started a new experiment!

As this a group about your perception rather than your creativity please do not post pictures to the pool. In the manner of cold-hearted, clinical science these anomalies will deleted.
However if you have anything relevant to this group, such as interesting scientific theories about visual perception, or personal experience of a pysical or psychological condition affecting visual perception, feel free to post!

Remember there is no wrong or right here, only your opinion.

(All experiments are humane, no flickrites will be harmed in the duration of these tests.)

Why did I start this group?
Nosing around on flickr and hearing different people's indivdiual opinions and fascinating stories has made me really apreciate the vast difference in people's visual perception. What's really confusing of course, is that all these opinions are totally subjective, and that out of this huge seething mass there is no right or wrong way of seeing.
Our only feeble stab at objectivity is common opinion. Therefore i decided to start this group as an experiment, an enquiry into:
1. the range of perceptual experience in indivduals and the group
2. the "norm" opinion/ perception
3.how many people will willing subject themselves to the title 'guinea pig.' Mwhehehehe, I get kicks out of the most pathetic things :)
