About Pooling Yarn Pool

Variegated yarn can have different effects when knitted. Usually, a spiraling stripe will appear, sometimes the colors will clump together, making large blotches of color. This is called pooling. Love it or hate it, it's a good thing to know about before making a big investment in yarn. I love looking at pooled yarn, so if I invite you to post, it's a good thing!

Please post your photos of strong or interesting pooling and refrain from posting photos of light or faint pooling, as it does not really illustrate the concept of pooling clearly.

Any discussions about certain yarn brands or patterns which pool are not intended to be critical, but merely informational.

I am working on a way to force pooling. Watch for some dye experiments coming up.
