The PORTRAIT CLASSICS Group is dedicated to high quality portraiture and gives Members the opportunity of posting those ‘photos that they consider to be their best three portraits. They may judge these either by the interestingness of their ‘photos (those most fovourited, most commented on or most viewed) or, where they feel that the rating does not do justice to their ‘photos.

Subjects should be humans only and can be of any sex, age, race or nationality – in fact, the wider the variety of ‘photos posted, the more interesting the Group will become.

Members are limited to showing three ‘photos at any given time. This is to avoid the total number of ‘photos in the Group becoming too large, with the result that many ‘photos may never be looked at. Members can remove ‘photos at any time and replace them with other ‘photos that they feel are more interesting. They can even bring back ‘photos that they have previously removed, so long as the total number at any time does not exceed three.

Members are encouraged to view new entries in the Group and to comment on them or mark them as favourites. They are encouraged, also, to draw the Group to the attention of their own contacts.

No gratuitous nudity or tasteless ‘photos will be allowed and the Administrator reserves the right to remove any ‘photos posted, without reference to the Members concerned.

A series of competitions has been launched to find the best photographs in the Group pool. At approximately weekly intervals, a new competition revolving around a particular portrait theme is started. The photographers of the best four photographs in each competition, as voted for by Group members, are invited to add their winning images to THE PORTRAIT CLASSICS HALL OF FAME. This is a highly exclusive Group, which can only be joined by invitation and invitations are only offered to winners. Over time, this Group will grow both as regards members and photographs.

While there is a limitation of three photographs per member at any one time in the PORTRAIT CLASSICS Group, there is no such limitation in the PORTRAIT CLASSICS HALL OF FAME - therefore, the best photographers can have a series of photographs in that Group assuming, of course, that they are all winning photographs in the competitions.

It is hoped that all Members will enjoy participating in this Group by posting their best work, appreciating great pictures from other Members and taking an active part in the competitions.
