About The Dead Photographers Club - agents and archivists

The Dead Photographers Club is a group devoted to deceased photographers pissed-off that their life's work languishes unseen in dusty slide trays and photo albums. Direct contact with the corporeal world is subject to complex rules, restrictions and approvals that can make the post-mortem photo sharing process incredibly daunting for even the most determined flatliner.

Fortunately for the dead, a number of thoughtful and caring breathers have taken the time to collect and publish the photographs of their dearly departed creating an indeleble legacy and demonstrating that talented photographers did not emerge with the digital age, they have been around for a very long time.

The agents and archivists sub-group of the Dead Photographers Club was created as a place for the living to share the best of the work of dead photographers. Post only the special shots from their collections here, the pictures that they would have framed and displayed with pride.

This group is not for vintage postcards or for widely distributed commercial or promotional photographs, it's for pictures taken by someone you knew, someone you're related to or someone with whom you had a personal connection.

The focus of this group is on great pictures and the stories they have to tell.

Each photo should include information about where and when it was taken and the story that explains why it was thought worthy of a permanent record.

If you don’t know the story behind the image, don’t post it here. Photos without detailed explanatory notes will be deleted. You are going to have to work a bit to honour the memory of the photo and the photographer when posting to this group.

Believe me, the dead are watching.

Here are the rules:

• Post only the best photos taken by the dead photographer, a maximum of three a day
• The original photographer must be clinically dead and must be identified along with other known details about the picture in the title, notes or comments
• Pornography will be deleted and those posting it will be banned and haunted.

The dead continue to be encouraged to post their own work in the Dead Photographers Club group.
