About Duffs 'r' Us
This group is for photos of the Class 47 diesel locomotive or Brush type 4, more commonly known as a "Duff".
As long as a class 47 is the focal point or one is in reasonable close view it is welcome here. It could be a green one just after delivery or a Virgin one as the class were bowing out on top link passenger work. Any class 47s are welcome, even model ones you may have on a layout at home.
The 47s were by far the largest class of locomotive barring the shunters and although not loved by everyone were an integral part of the UK rail scene.
Class 57s are also welcome, as they originally were a part of this huge class before they were re-enginered with GM power units and given a new classification.
