After the destructive 1952 earthquake much of the city's buildings had to be re-built, giving the town a cohesive modernist civic center and downtown. This pool is designed to spotlight the architectural gems that make up the fabric of Bakersfield, the ones that are threatened with demolition and the ones that have been lost to new construction.
