Lincoln Square is Community Area 4 of 77 on the city's official list of neighborhoods.

It includes the area bounded by Montrose Ave (4400 N) to Peterson Ave (6000 N) east of Western Ave (2400 W) and Bryn Mawr Ave (5600 N) west of Western; it ranges west from Ravenswood Ave (1800 W) to the Chicago River.

Lincoln Square's better-known sub-neighborhoods are Bowmanville, Budlong Woods, Ravenswood and Ravenswood Gardens.
