Hi, here is are some photos of my Browny:

People tell me she looks like she has Border Collie in her. I think she might be a Border Collie mix. She definitely has the Border Collie personality.
What do you think?

Difficult to be sure without seeing her whole body shape next to a BC, but she just looks like a red BC. They come in assorted sizes, coat length, ear style etc - go for the Border Collie specialities like agility and flyball, she looks the sort of dog who would really love them

My first border collie was a BC/Springer Spaniel mix. He was the dog that made me trust dogs again (had a fear & a bite as a kid). Not only that, I fell in love with dogs and ended up volunteering at humane societies and BC breed rescue long after he passed away.
Here are two pictures of my George:

George looks lovely - that's a nice cross, my son had a similar cross.
Browny certainly looks to be all BC - not sure how you got the pics in the posting though - I'll add pics of my 3 BCs and saluki x possible BC if I find out - they are in a set in my photos.

We have a BC mix. We resuced Cosmo (Mo) from the animal shelter. He was 8 weeks old and turned in as a stray. I knew from his markings he had BC in his bloodline. The shelter said he was a BC/Springer mix. He is a very loved dog, especially by my daughter/10 and son/2. He is wonderful with the 2 year old(Mo is 3 1/2). I was worried about how he would be with my son, but he has been great. I have an awesome B/W photo I took of him I will upload and post tomorrow.

Glad you welcome mutts to the group! My Zorro is a Collie/Border Collie mix; he doesn't have the intensity of a pure BC, but he sure has the brains. We adopted Zorro from the shelter - if you love the BC breed please go to the shelter. There are lots of purebred and mixes to be found, and black dogs are extremely difficult to adopt out. Don't ask me why - I have a great one!
Ok - stupid question - how do you get pics on the discussion boards?

Hi, I'm sure that all collie mixes etc are welcomed here. My two are short coated collies with a hunterway in their line (a grandparent I think), they aren't pedigree so they are registered as working sheep dogs with the kennel club, (like a lot of collie types who compete in agility here in the uk.)
Chaos (below), is a registered pedigree red/tri border collie.

I have a lab mix dog that my vet finally thinks has some border collie in her. She nips the heels of my older dog in play, stalks the cat, is REALLY smart has white on her toes and white through her tail like its frosted from the hair dressers. She likes to lay flat on her belly with paws forward and then zooms toward you. Here is her picture:
Suzanne
Her name is Katie. When I adopted her from the pound, the sign on her cage said she was Lab/springer mix, but the dogs I've seen of that mix do not have the long hair and feathering of the tail that she has.
Thanks

We have a border collie x huskie, we got her from a rescue shelter in September 2007 where she was placed with her brother (who was more samyod than border collie)and unfortunetly nobody wanted her.She is a bundle of joy and energy and every morning is like christmas morning when she pounces on the bed to wake us up, such excitement every single time. She has all the BC traits, markings, speed, intelligence but her fur, tail and strength is that of a huskie, a fantastic cross I reckon. When I figure out how to work this I'll post some pictures of her, her name is Leila.

We always knew he was some sort of mix with an English Springer Spaniel, and I have never known what the other breed is. I happened to stumble upon this discussion with a google search, and I am almost certain he is a mix with a Border Collie. I will post a pic as soon as I can get him to sit still ;)

This is my new border collie mix puppy I adopted from the shelter, Snow Plow. He's just about 3 months old, so it's hard to tell what he's mixed with. People have mentioned bull terrier (yuck) jack russell, and white german shepherd. He's 15/20 pounds at 3 months. Here's some pictures. He has a naturally short tail. I can feel the vertebrae at the end. I have no idea what his other half is, so any suggestions would definitely be appreciated.

Can you guys look at this picture and tell me what you think the other part of the mix is??
We don't want a rot and I think I may see the markings... but the body is nothing like a rot. And her sister doesn't have any of those markings.
What do you guys think??
I'm hoping this link works.

This is our dog, Haeley. We adopted her from a shelter in Rockville, MD in early 1998. She was around a year old.
We think she's a border collie mix and have seen photos of blonde border collies that really remind us of her.
She's very people-oriented, super smart and loves to have "jobs" to do.
The headshot is of her at 9 years old and the one of her in the car is of her at 12. She's 13.5 now and starting to show her age. We adore her!

I'm so glad to have found this thread. I also adopted from a shelter using the petfinder.com website. When I saw Ashley's picture and read her story it broke my heart. She was dumped, half starved, adopted for a year and then returned. What a way to start out in life! I was told that she is English Pointer and Border Collie. What ever she is, it's a great mix.

And this is Tippi. Her mom is a border collie and her dad is a black lab; she came from a farm owned by a friend of my husband's. She is pretty darn smart too! She'll be two in Jan.2011.

Super smart, very energetic and thinks he's lap dog. I highly recommend the mix, although he can be very protective of his food an will get that look in his eye like he's ready to bite. He'll also "sheep" you with that same look.
Good dog, loves his frisbee, and is fun to train. Good to go!
