About Oxford

Oxford, not only famous for the colleges and dreaming spires, but also home to Alice In Wonderland, the Inklings, Radiohead, the Mini and other such weird and wonderful things.

We are an actively social group and have meet ups one evening a month where you have to chance to share a few drinks with other members, swap tips and put faces to avatars. Every few months we organise some kind of outing. In the past we've done night shoots, retro camera meet ups and travelled to meet other Flickr groups around the country. Events are generally free unless specified and are announced on the front page and in the discussion area.

Guidelines

We're a friendly bunch but we do have a few house rules we'd like you to keep in mind:

1: Members are limited to 3 pictures per day. Try and make them a bit varied and not 3 shots of the same thing from slightly different angles.

2: The group pool is to showcase Oxford, not Oxford photographers (there is a group for that), so we would ask that your submissions are relevant to the city (the discussion area is more free-wheeling and we encourage you to get involved). Photos will be removed if we feel they go against the spirit of this rule.

3: Although what constitutes Oxford is up for debate we tend to think of it as roughly the area encompassed by the ring road (see this map). If your pictures are from any further afield then there is the Oxfordshire group which focuses on the wider county.

4: Please tag your pictures and put them on a map if you can. If you're from out of town and not sure what something is then please feel free to start a discussion thread and we'll see if we can help.

5: Play nice in the discussion area. Persistently naughty monkeys will be banned.
